An Intro to My Intuitive Mandala Art Transcription
Aloha and Namaste. My name is Carol Denego and I live in Honolulu, Hawaii. I really enjoy creating intuitive personal mandalas and abstract art. Back in 1998, I was working as a legal secretary and I wasn't very happy because I wasn't doing many creative things that I remembered doing in childhood. So I made an agreement with a friend of mine who suggested that I do three activities every day for six weeks. I chose to write, paint, and sing. In the very first few days of playing with my colors and art, I created this painting, My First Mandala . At the time I had not a clue that it was a mandala. I was very surprised. But it ended up showing me that as I listened to my intuition, I was able to connect more deeply, hear, and start seeing and feeling what direction to go. That led me to create more and more mandalas.
With the abstract art, I created this painting, Ancient Wisdom. At the time I was playing with color also. I had no idea that I would be showing it to anybody later on. This painting got lost in my house for about nine months because it was left in a closet after I moved. I found this painting and the large photo of my Chippewa grandmother and her friends in native dress. When I took the artwork out of the closet, there was such joy that radiated out from all the paintings, this one especially, and the photo of my grandmother, that it shifted the vibration in the whole house. So I find that it's joyful to create and I'm so grateful for the ancient secrets that have helped me to even be talking today. Mahalo for listening and aloha.
